Faculty of Education Undergoes PC Sensitization Training
Staff from the Faculty of Education, Kikuyu Campus, were trained on Performance Contracting on 21st March 2025. A team from the Performance Management Reform Unit (PMRU), led by Dr Kiringa, conducted the training at the faculty of Education. The goal of the training was to help the staff members understand how evaluators conduct their evaluation and enable the team to understand the team's evidence while undertaking their evaluation. Dr. Grace Kiringa, Director of Performance Contracting, provided them with clear benchmarks for success and for fostering a culture of responsibility.

The Performance contracts have been negotiated and cascaded from the corporate UoN Performance contract for FY 2024/2025,” She said
Performance Contracting office, Mr. Akuku, emphasized digitalization; Research and Community Service; Innovation and Commercialization Ecosystem; People Focus; Sustainability; Teaching, Learning, and Creative Works. It is the basis of the University's strategic vision and outlines our promises toward academic excellence and impact on society.
Prof. Jeremiah Kalai, Dean Faculty of Education, noted, ‘This exercise is important for our evaluation and recognition of the best-performing Faculty, departments, and staff. It serves as a way of motivating, uplifting morale, and driving performance. Through this training, we can achieve our commitment of being a globally competitive University transforming society and exemplifying excellence. We need to ensure that in the PC, every party plays their role at an individual level, culminating in the overall Institution performance by setting and striving to achieve corporate goals and targets.
The training covered the following: Genesis of Performance Contracting, what is Performance Contracting, the rationale for Performance Contracting, Objectives of Performance Contracting, Performance Targets, what is Performance Evaluation and Basic Principle of performance Evaluation.
