Students from the College of Education and External Studies joined the world in observing the World Environment Day on 5th June 2021. The theme of this year’s World Environment Day is "Ecosystem Restoration". The Students planted more than 200 tree seedlings at the Kikuyu Campus compound.
The University of Nairobi has partnered with Kenya Forest Service and the National government to plant trees across all campuses. The University remains committed to afforestation and conservation of the environment, every year the University organizes tree planting activities to increase forest coverage and contribute towards the national goal of 10% tree coverage.
