The Department of Educational and Distance Studies, Faculty of Education, University of Nairobi, Kenya in Collaboration with Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto, Canada has launched an international one semester collaborative course. The course title: CTL1221H: Educating for Humanitarian goals locally and globally: How is Science Education helping? Commenced on 16 th September 2022 to 6 th January 2023.
The one semester post graduate course is a taught course at OISE-University of Toronto, Canada for post graduate education related disciplines. Through the partnership, 43 students from University of Nairobi has received tuition fee waiver of (USD Dollars 7500 per student) to do the course for free. The course will be run asynchronously and synchronous on Quercus (the University of Toronto’s online learning platform) and certificate of completion will be issued to those who meet all the course requirements. The 43 post graduate students from various Departments at UoN will be learning alongside registered students at OISE, University of Toronto, Canada.
The programme received operational funding under the Global classrooms Funding, University of Toronto Canada. The project led instructor is Prof. Wanja Gitari- Professor of Science Education, University of Toronto Canada assisted by Dr. Anne Aseey - Chairperson-Department of Educational and Distance Studies, University of
Nairobi.
