Linkoping University students visit.

The Faculty of Education today hosted students from Linkoping University in Sweden. The University has had a running collaboration with the faculty that includes student mentorship and exchange programmes. The team included 18 students who are taking on various educational courses at the University. The session included a Q and A session where students from Linkoping University asked about the campus and the state of education in Kenya in general. Some of the students will be spend a semester at UoN as part of the exchange programme.

Guidance and Counselling session for students.

The Faculty of Education organized a Guidance and Counselling session for students at the MPH Lecture Hall on 12th January, 2022 from 10.30a.m. The session was designed to facilitate student’s achievement, improve student behaviour and attendance, and help students develop socially.  Guidance and Counselling supports students who are experiencing personal or academic challenges and helps them to choose careers and plan for the future.

Training of Trainers for Teacher Education and Management

The Principal Secretary, State Department for University Education and Research, Amb. Simon Nabukwesi has committed to support and upscale the activities Trainers for Teacher Education and Management (TOTEMK). He was speaking during the closing ceremony of the TOTEMK workshop held at the University of Nairobi on Wednesday 10th November 2021.  In his remarks, Amb.

65TH GRADUATION CEREMONY

The University of Nairobi held its 65th Graduation Ceremony on Friday 24th September 2021. 4,205 students were awarded certificates; 1 Higher Doctorate Degree, 79 PhD Degrees, 378 Masters, 17 postgraduate diplomas, 3,459 Bachelors and 271 Diplomas. 36.7 % of the graduands were females while 63.3% were male.

UON Alumni Association 2021 Scholarship Fund

UoN Alumni Association Scholarship Fund is a program that provides University Scholarships and Mentorship to academically gifted but financially disadvantaged students undertaking their undergraduate courses at the University of Nairobi Students.  

The Fund has supported over 3000 needy and bright students to meet their educational needs since the University of Nairobi Alumni Association was launched in 2005. The fund does not cater for the full cost of University requirements in an academic year hence awardees are advised to explore other ways for more funding. 

UoN@50 Campaign: Community Outreach activity (HGM Kinoo)

The College of Education and External Studies (CEES) is celebrating the University of Nairobi's 50th Anniversary! The University launched the #UONat50 campaign (1970-2020) to celebrate 50 years of academic excellence. As part of the campaign, CEES organized a Community outreach activity at the HGM Primary and Secondary Kinoo Schools in Kiambu County on Thursday 24th June 2021.
