Virtual Open Day 2021 Program of Activities

The University of Nairobi welcomes you to the 10th edition of the Open Day. This is an important annual event where the opens up avenues for potential students, partners and the general public to have a deeper understanding and appreciation of the leading University in the country.  This year; the University will hold a virtual Open Day on the Thursday 18th February and Friday, 19th February 2021.

College welcomes freshers for blended/online learning on Campus

The University of Nairobi senate approved phased resumption of face to face of learning in the School of Education. In CEES first years reported on Monday, February 1, 2021 at kikuyu campus while the rest will continue with online classes as we continue to monitor Covid-19 pandemic trend. The college is expected to ensure they comply with the Covid-19 guidelines and pass the prevention inspection test.

CEES ranks 3rd best in Performance Contract (College Ranking category)

The College of Education and External Studies is the 3rd best performing College in the University of Nairobi. The College Principal, Prof. Isaac Jumba received a certificate of performance under Colleges category during the Performance Contract award ceremony for the year 2019/2020 held on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Taifa Hall.

United Refugee Agency (UNHRC) donates laptops to the College

College Principal Prof. Isaac Jumba receives laptop donations from United Refugee Agency (UNHCR). University of Nairobi in collaboration with UNHCR has designed a Diploma in Teacher Education in Emergencies that is currently undergoing approval process. The two stakeholders have held consultative workshops to understand education emergencies and how to make it refugees ready.

webinar: Implementation of the new competence-based curriculum (CBC): Lessons learned from Finland

The University of Nairobi is hosting a series of webinars to mark 50 years anniversary. On December 3, 2020; The Department of Physical Education and Sport invited Professor Seija Karppinnen, from the faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Helsinki, Finland to speak at a webinar titled “Boosting 21st Century skills- Invention pedagogy and Collaboration.
