Prize Presentation Ceremony 2021

The University of Nairobi held the 2nd prize presentation ceremony on Friday, 7th May 2021. The Prize presentation ceremony is an important tradition at the University aimed at recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance by our students. This year’s event recognized the overall best students in 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 cohorts.

UoN don elected Regional Sports President

Dr. Simon Munayi, a UoN don was recently elected to the Presidency of the Federation of Eastern Africa University Sports (FEAUS) for a period of four years. Dr. Munayi was the Secretary-General of the body before being elected President. The Federation of Eastern Africa University Sports comprises of 12 countries which include: the twelve countries in the Eastern Africa region, namely, Burundi, Comoros, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somali, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Staff Training: Transformative Pedagogy

The University of Nairobi Management has scheduled a 3-weeks online training workshop for the members of the academic staff on transformative pedagogy in higher education with special reference to asynchronous e-learning mode of delivery during the months of May and June, 2021. The training will be conducted by the Centre for Pedagogy and Andragogy (CEPA) in collaboration with Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR) team. 80% of the presentations/training sessions will be done asynchronously.

Library Online Open Week - April 14- 16, 2021

The Library Department invites you to the 7th Library Open week scheduled from April 14- 16, 2021.

The Open Week will showcase the electronic information resources, services, and facilities accessible to the University community. A key resource, in particular, is the remote access facility which allows students to access electronic reading material from anywhere at any time. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this is a convenient innovation.

UoN Talents Day: Home of talents

In August 2020, the University management announced a comprehensive 5-point reform agenda aimed at transforming the University into a vibrant, relevant, and sustainable University.  Reform Agenda number 5 is “People-Focused Reforms”; under this agenda, the University aims to proactively identify and celebrate the talents and achievements of our staff and students. To this end, the university held the 1st Talent Day on Friday 12th March 2021 at Taifa Hall.

The University of Nairobi has set aside Friday, 12 March 2021 as UoN Talents Day to showcase diverse talents from both students and staff in various category namely:

Appointment: Dr. Loise Gichuhi -Country Focal Point (INEE)

Dr Loise Gichuhi has been appointed as a Country Focal Point for the Inter-Agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE). She will be part of a team of 12 appointees representing various countries across the world (List of Appointees:  HERE) Dr. Gichuhi is a senior Lecturer specializing in Education in Emergencies at the School of Education, College of Education and External Studies-University of Nairobi.

Virtual Open Day 2021 Program of Activities

The University of Nairobi welcomes you to the 10th edition of the Open Day. This is an important annual event where the opens up avenues for potential students, partners and the general public to have a deeper understanding and appreciation of the leading University in the country.  This year; the University will hold a virtual Open Day on the Thursday 18th February and Friday, 19th February 2021.
