The University of Nairobi Appoints Prof. Susan Yego Chepkonga as Acting Dean of Education at Nyandarua University College.

NYANDARUA, KENYA — June 19, 2026

The Faculty of Education has officially announced the appointment of Prof. Susan Yego Chepkonga as the Acting Dean of the School of Education at Nyandarua University College.

The decision follows a resolution passed by the University of Nairobi Council during its 150th meeting. Prof. Chepkonga steps into this pivotal leadership role from her position within the Department of Educational Management, Policy & Curriculum Studies.

In her new capacity, Prof. Chepkonga will take on a dual role. She is tasked with overseeing the School of Education's core academic and administrative functions while simultaneously maintaining her active duties as a teaching faculty member.

To ensure seamless operations, she will work in close coordination with both the Principal of Nyandarua University College and the University of Nairobi’s executive management. Her primary focus will be upholding and advancing the institution's established standards in: Academic excellence, Educational research and Policy development

The appointment has been met with widespread optimism across the institution.
