UON Alumni Association 2021 Scholarship Fund

UoN Alumni Association Scholarship Fund is a program that provides University Scholarships and Mentorship to academically gifted but financially disadvantaged students undertaking their undergraduate courses at the University of Nairobi Students.  

The Fund has supported over 3000 needy and bright students to meet their educational needs since the University of Nairobi Alumni Association was launched in 2005. The fund does not cater for the full cost of University requirements in an academic year hence awardees are advised to explore other ways for more funding. 

UoN@50 Campaign: Community Outreach activity (HGM Kinoo)

The College of Education and External Studies (CEES) is celebrating the University of Nairobi's 50th Anniversary! The University launched the #UONat50 campaign (1970-2020) to celebrate 50 years of academic excellence. As part of the campaign, CEES organized a Community outreach activity at the HGM Primary and Secondary Kinoo Schools in Kiambu County on Thursday 24th June 2021.

UON@50 CELEBRATIONS

Anniversaries are well worth celebrating, the management, faculty, staff, and students at the College of Education and External Studies held a 2-day virtual event to celebrate the University of Nairobi golden jubilee (1970-2020). The University mounted a year-long campaign to celebrate 50 years of academic excellence and take stock of the successes and milestones achieved since 1970 to date (#UoN@50).

Annual Sports Day 2021 Edition

One of the most exciting events in the University calendar is the Annual Sports Day. On this day staff and students from across all Colleges compete in various sporting activities and socialize. This year, the University of Nairobi held the annual Sports day on Friday June 18 2021 at the University Sports Ground. The theme of this year’s annual Sports Day is “Staying safe and healthy through sports.

World Environment Day 2021

Students from the College of Education and External Studies joined the world in observing the World Environment Day on 5th June 2021. The theme of this year’s World Environment Day is "Ecosystem Restoration". The Students planted more than 200 tree seedlings at the Kikuyu Campus compound.

Prize Presentation Ceremony 2021

The University of Nairobi held the 2nd prize presentation ceremony on Friday, 7th May 2021. The Prize presentation ceremony is an important tradition at the University aimed at recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance by our students. This year’s event recognized the overall best students in 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 cohorts.

UoN don elected Regional Sports President

Dr. Simon Munayi, a UoN don was recently elected to the Presidency of the Federation of Eastern Africa University Sports (FEAUS) for a period of four years. Dr. Munayi was the Secretary-General of the body before being elected President. The Federation of Eastern Africa University Sports comprises of 12 countries which include: the twelve countries in the Eastern Africa region, namely, Burundi, Comoros, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somali, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.
