This year, the University of Nairobi hosted the research week from 23 rd -27 th October,2023 themed
‘Harnessing Research for Resilience and Sustainability of Communities’. This year’s research week had
most sessions virtual and some physical with researchers from across the globe participating and
presenting on different topics around the theme of this year’s research week. Fourteen (14) sub-topics
were covered during the research week and this was a representation from all the eleven (11) Faculties in
The Department of Educational Foundations will host the 1st Philosophy of Education Seminar on September 27 and 28, 2023 at 9.00 am. The theme for the seminar is: "PHILOSOPHY AND THE FUTURE OF EDUCATION" and will include the following sub-themes
The 13th biennial Pan-African Literacy for All (PALFA) Conference will be held for the second time in Nairobi, Kenya from 23rd to 25th August, 2023 under the auspices of the University of Nairobi, the Ministry of Education, Association of Reading of Kenya (ARK) and Rift Valley Reading Association (RVRA). PALFA (previously referred to as Pan-African Reading for All Conference), was first held in Kenya in August, 2013.

The university of Nairobi in collaboration with the University of Helsinki- Finland
launched the Centre for Educational Research and Evaluation.
The centre aims at nurturing and strengthening the research culture here in Kenya.
This is a great step especially for the new competency based curriculum(CBC) which
encourages learners to be innovative through mediums like research.
In attendance was the UoN VC represented by the DVC AA Prof. Julius Ogeng'o. He
expressed his joy in seeing the launch of the research centre after almost 40 years.
The University of Nairobi, Faculty of Education in partnership with University of Helsinki, Turku University and Strathmore University held a conference to introduce the Centre for Educational Research and Evaluation (CERE) through its REFORD project. REFORD Project refers to Research-Based and Future-Oriented Curriculum Review and Development for Teacher Education at the University of Nairobi and Strathmore University so that students will acquire skills needed in 21st century life and the labor market.
The Faculty of Education,is set to launch the Centre for educational research Evaluation at Main Campus,Taifa Hall on 10th February at 8a.m and an official ribbon cutting ceremony of the Centre's offices at the Kenya Science Campus.
The University of Nairobi, Faculty of Education conducted a first Year's Representative elections on 28th November, 2022 at the MPH Building from 1.00p.m. to 1.30p.m. The election was presided over by the dean of students Dr. Pamela Lunjalu in the presence of UNSA and UNESA leaders.
Cliff Rovasco Otieno emerged the winner and was declared the First Year Class Representative 2022/2023
The University of Nairobi, Kikuyu Campus held a talent search show on 26th November, 2022 at the MPH Building. The students presented various talents to empower them to proceed to the next level of university talent competitions. The event in which participants performed the arts of singing, dancing, acting, martial arts, poetry, and comedy.
